Time Warner

New York, NY
Jeff Bewkes, CEO

Time Warner Inc. is the product of the 1989 merger between Time Inc. and Warner Communications. The company’s businesses include filmed entertainment (Warner Bros.), cable networks (Turner Broadcasting and HBO) and publishing (Time Inc.).

Time Warner is also a provider of news through its ownership of CNN, Time Magazine and TMZ.

Time Warner merged with Internet giant AOL in January 2001, to create AOL Time Warner. But the deal came to be regarded as one of the biggest failures in merger history and in December 2009, the company completed the spin-off of AOL. AOL has its own listing on this site.
