Printing the Report

The State of the News Media 2004 report was built to take advantage of the capabilities of the Web. It has not been published as a single hard copy document, which would total somewhere around 500 pages. Users can, though, print the material on the site in the following manner:

The overview and each of the media chapters can be printed separately. Chapters range from 20 to 40 pages. Here are the links (these links are also located in the side margin of the Introduction to each chapter):

The methodology and source bibliography can be printed as well at the following links:

In addition, pages within the report are printable using the "Print this page" link located in the upper right hand corner of the page.

We have made the entire report available in a Word file by copying the pages from this Web site. The entire document is 350 pages long and takes up 7 megabytes of space. Please be advised that it can take a long time to download on a slower connection. Download the file here.

If you have any difficulty printing a page or have questions, please contact us at mail@journalism.org.

The executive summary is available as a PDF.
